Meet your new fall favorite with this delicious maple cinnamon latte recipe!
Coffee lovers, this homemade latte is full of warm flavors with all the cozy fall vibes…think warm, cozy evenings, leaves crunching under your feet, and… maple syrup? Yep, you heard right. If fall were a drink, it’d be a Maple Cinnamon Latte. Starbucks might have its famed pumpkin spice latte, but this is the unsung hero of fall beverages (but really, you can enjoy this yummy treat any time of year!)
While I love a good PSL every fall, I decided to experiment a bit with my homemade lattes this year. The result? This delicious maple cinnamon latte recipe that combines the rich sweetness of maple syrup with the spicy warmth of cinnamon using simple ingredients that you probably already have on hand anyway. I’m definitely adding this one to my fall coffee routine, and I bet you will too!
You can find the full recipe card below, but first, I’ll walk you through the process step-by-step.
Why You’ll Love This Maple Cinnamon Latte Recipe:
- Cinnamon-Infused Espresso: Brew your go-to espresso using an espresso machine (I use a Nespresso). A sprinkle of cinnamon added while it’s brewing gives it that extra warmth and spice.
- Maple Magic: Instead of regular sugar, we’re using maple syrup. And let me tell you, it’s the upgrade you never knew your latte needed! (But please don’t use the fake stuff… I’m sorry, but this is not a job for Mrs. Butterworth!)
- Frothy Finish: Frothing your warm milk to perfection is the perfect way to top off this cozy, fall-inspired latte. I love using my Aerocinno to make the best velvety foam!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of milk (you can use your favorite milk of choice: oat milk, almond milk, coconut milk… whatever you have on hand!)
- 2 espresso shots or ¼ cup strong brewed coffee
- 1 tbsp real maple syrup (Don’t use the fake stuff! You can use more if you like your lattes on the sweeter side.)
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
Instructions:
- In your mug, add the espresso, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Let the hot espresso dissolve the ingredients.
- Heat up your milk in the microwave for about 1 minute or on the stove
- Pour your milk into a milk frother and froth until you have thick foam (I usually use my Aerocinno, but you can easily use a handheld milk frother, instead. Just make sure whatever you froth it in has a pouring spout to make it easier. I usually use a glass measuring glass or a cream pitcher when I do it this way.)
- Pour the milk over your espresso or strong coffee in the mug, and make sure to scoop out the extra foam.
- Garnish with some more cinnamon on top if you wish.
Notes:
- You can also add a dollop of whipped cream on top if you’re feeling extra indulgent.
- Opt for pure maple syrup, not the imitation ones, for the best flavor (In case you missed it the other two times I said it, this is really important!)
- You can also warm your milk in a small saucepan over medium heat and remove it right before it starts boiling. Cook for about 4-6 minutes on medium-high heat. I’m usually too busy (or impatient!) to wait for this method, so I go for the Aerocinno or microwave + handheld frother combo.
Alternate Recipes:
- Brew your espresso over ice cubes, skip the warming step, and use cold milk (or use the cold foam option on your Nespresso Aerocinno!) to enjoy an iced version of this delicious maple cinnamon latte!
